We are delighted to invite you and the members of Italy-Bhutan Friendship Association to attend the ninth edition of Mountain Echoes literary festival to be held in Thimphu, Bhutan from August 22-25, 2018. The venues are - Royal University of Bhutan (Auditorium), Tarayana Centre, Taj Tashi, Clock Tower and Mojo Park.

Mountain Echoes is an initiative of the India-Bhutan Foundation in association with Siyahi. Mountain Echoes brings both countries, forming an ideal platform for literature, discourse, debate and cultural exchange. Her Majesty the Royal Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck is the Chief Royal Patron of the festival. Namita Gokhale, Pramod Kumar KG, Siok Sian Dorji and Tshering Tashi are the Festival Directors.

This year the festival will host a number of sessions, workshops, performances, exhibitions and an open mic. Some of the speakers who have confirmed their presence for this year's festival are:
Andrew Quintman: Buddhist teacher, researcher
Chewang Rinzin: director of the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS)
Daniel C Taylor: nature conservationist, educational innovator, community change implementer
Dave Goulson: author, specialises in the ecology and conservation of bumblebees
Dr Sonal Mansingh: Indian classical dancer
Paulo Lemos Horta: author of The Marvellous Thieves of the Arabian Nights
Sonam Wangmo Jhalani: development specialist, writer
Tandin Bidha: actress
Usha Uthup: musician
Valmik Thapar: naturalist, conservationist, writer
